I have been training with Abdel for over 5 years now. I love that he takes the time to get to know you in order to fully understand you and your own personal goals so that he can work those into each and every session. He is a realist and so is honest about what is required to hit those goals.
For me, training is about maintaining good health both physically and mentally as I get older - it is a long term strategy that Abdel helps me to realise. One should never underestimate the benefits to your mental health that exercise can bring. That’s not to say we don’t set short and mid term goals as holidays approach etc.
Abdel's knowledge of nutrition, anatomy and physiology brings an extra dimension to our sessions - it helps me to understand what I am doing and why, which is of course, important. Technique is also key in all that we do in our sessions which helps to prevent injuries and can also help to mend any physical aches and pains. He always has an eye on my posture and is really strict on form. On days when I’m feeling tired or lazy, Abdel has the uncanny ability of tricking me into working way harder than I had anticipated which in turn makes me feel way better for it. Even when I am training by myself I hear his words of encouragement pushing me on or reminding me to correct my posture.
Always the consummate professional Abdel approaches every session with a firm plan of action and you know that you will get 100% of his attention 100% of the time. It is an absolute joy training with Abdel - even when I am pushed to my limits. I am not the sportiest of people, but always, always look forward to our sessions. - Rebekah·
Abdel is a great personal trainer - an absolute expert in pushing you just the right amount so you leave each session feeling proud and accomplished. He takes a really personal approach, designing sessions not just around your personal goals, but also thinking about how you can address problem areas.
He really takes the time to make sure your form and technique are perfect and his particular brand of friendliness combined with a no nonsense demeanour mean I've pushed myself more than I thought I would over the past couple of years training with him. I have been training with Abdel for almost 5 years now and it has truly changed my life. Abdel has a real gift for gently pushing you, getting the best out of you, whilst respecting your boundaries and making you feel great about yourself.
As well as being great with people, Abdel is also a real student of the science of the human body and puts a lot of thought into the sessions, bringing with him real understanding of what will work for you personally - he is a true professional.
As for me, I cannot wait to get to my session every time, it feels both like a great investment in myself but also like seeing an old friend.
